THE
TEAM JAM CONNECTION

TEAM
JAM's first high school outreach efforts began in the Akron area's
Richfield Revere high school. Though Andy was already at college
(Toledo) at that time, he caught our attention when he was eventually
added to the Cleveland Browns practice squad (1994).
During
that same year, he was picked up by the New Orleans Saints. TEAM
JAM was involved with the Saints through Irv Smith (tight end, Notre
Dame). During the following season, Irv aided us in meeting Andy
after one of their exhibition games in Detroit.
Through
continued visits to the games and contact with the McCollum family in
the off- season, Andy assisted TEAM JAM in a couple of outreach
efforts. He was a personable coach at Ricky Power's
football camp in Akron and helped us promote an Illusion Show (Milan
and Linda) at Revere HS.
College Highlights:
All Mid-American Conference performer as
junior and senior at Toledo .…started every game final three
seasons…also academic all-MAC first-team selection senior

RECENT
NEWS

In early April, 2005, Andy made his rounds to a nearby high school
in Warrenton, Missouri just outside of St. Louis to speak to their
FCA huddle. Over 80 students, plus teachers and friends in
the community, met with Andy at 6:45 am in the morning to hear him
talk about his relationship with Christ.

Shortly
afterward, Andy and John Saucier (TEAM JAM) also visited Child
Evangelism Fellowship's international headquarters (CEF) in
Warrenton, to speak to a staff chapel. CEF is renown for
their Bible Study material for children throughout the
world.

ANDY'S
RELATIONSHIP WITH
JESUS CHRISTI grew up in a good
Christian family and learned about God at an early age. However, it wasn't until a few years ago that I realized what it truly meant to be a child of God. All through high school, college, and even the early years of my marriage and career, I didn't really buy into the concept of God's grace. Sure, I believed in Jesus, I thanked God for my blessings, and I even prayed occasionally. The problem was all
in who I thought I was. All of my self worth was based on my actions; in general, my actions on a daily basis, more specifically, how I performed on the football field. In my mind my play on the field became who I was, when in reality it is
only what I do. Some struggles in my career and the birth of my children helped me to put things in perspective. One cannot earn a good standing with the Lord. Jesus did all the work for us when he died on the cross. He paid the price for all of our sins. I realized that God loves me no matter how badly I screw up in life or how poorly I play on the field. The great thing is that since I realized this and took the pressure off of myself, I have screwed up
a lot less. I have become a much better football player as well. I think it's a matter of giving control of your life over to Jesus completely. Bad things still happen to all of us sometimes, but with the knowledge of God's grace one can get through it. If you are reading this, I hope you realize God's love for you as well. If
you are interested in a 3 x 5 football card with Andy's testimony
on it, please write

The work of an
offensive lineman is all pain and sacrifice - with little
glory. Look at Andy(#67) face down in the dirt after paving
the way for a touchdown for Stephen Jackson.
