Rome on stage at a Divine Soldiers concert . . . "cuttin' da rug".

PERSONAL TESTIMONY

Romeo's grandmother is a minister and has done a great job in educating him on the Bible and Jesus Christ.  When he was around 13 he asked Christ to be his Savior during a church service.

In the years that followed there was a lot of struggle in his life to live up to his committment.  After attending Akron Central-Hower HS his sophomore year, he transfered over to St. Vincent-St. Mary.

That is when he met John Saucier and by his junior year was involved in lunch time Bible Studies once a week that John led with other basketball players, wrestlers and football players.

It was during that year that John ran into Romeo at a high school basketball game that they were both attending.  Rome was involved with something that he shouldn't have been and he was confronted about it.  The combination of the disappointment he caused and the challenge he was given resulted in his dramatically  changing a number of things in his lfie.

Rome has been involved in a number of Bible Studies, chapels, and TEAM JAM events since that time and is quick to organize such things for his teammates.  His influence stretches from Akron to college and of course to the NBA. The temptation and challenges continue and it's inevitable that Romeo won't always make all the right choices.  But one thing is for sure, he doesn't quit or run from an opportunity to improve on his relationship with God.
