TEAM JAM TOPPLES MINOR LEAGUE POWER

Yes it's true, TEAM JAM's minor league entry continued it's stunning midseason turn around with a SHOCKING 14-9 win over second place "ROADHOUSE".
Never heard of Roadhouse?  Sure you have.  It's the Brown Derby Restaurant chain and they sponsor a team in the local 9-10 yr. old "Minor League" division in Streetsboro, Ohio.  TEAM JAM is in a "rebuilding" mode, having stocked the roster with young 8 and 9 yr. old "prospects".  Only 3 of the 14 players on the roster are seasoned "veterans" of 10 yrs. of age!!!   The win was led by little 8 yr. old Johnathan Saucier, who got TEAM JAM to believe with the team's longest starting performance of the season.  He went THREE full innings, giving up only 2 earned runs among the five he allowed.  Cruising with an 11-5 lead in the fourth, 9 yr. old Danny Banks matched little Sauce's performance and "saw him one" with three more innings and only 4 total runs . . .only one run in the fourth and fifth. Banks got the last batter to ground out to Brian Diulus at first with the bases loaded for the dramatic conclusion under pressure.

Hitting stars including Danny Banks, Brandon Violi, Brandon Diulus, and Danny Dehoff.  The team celebrated with Dairy Queen ice cream (thanks Brian Violi) and drumsticks from Dairy Mart.  Due to their youth and lack of practice (bad weather in April and May), TEAM JAM lost their first four games by the scores of 21-1, 26-4, 21-0 and 19-3, as well as others by the scores of 21-8, and 19-9, before the young pitching started to come around (smile).   The 5 team playoffs begin this Thursday, with TEAM JAM getting a first round bye (through a lucky draw), and a second round game on Friday at 6:15pm.
