Ohio State junior defensive end Lawrence Wilson (Akron St. V-St. Mary) suffered a broken tibia that required surgery during the first game of the year against Youngstown State.  This followed an intense off-season in which he rose to leadership within the team because of his example and work ethic- to say nothing of his prodigious talent . . . .  Bill Nagy (Hudson HS) is starting on the offensive line for Wisconsin as a redshirt frosh. . . . . . .though drafted by the New Orleans Saints, Ohio State's Antonio Pittman is now with the St. Louis Rams . . . . . . . 14 year NFL vet, Andy McCollum (Revere HS, Toledo U.) is back from a devastating knee injury last season and starting again at center with the St. Louis Rams . . . .though he played in NFL Europe and finished the 2006 season with the New England Patriots, Brian Barthelmes was recently cut by the Patriots during summer camp. . . . .Former Akron Buchtel star Antonio Reynolds is starting at defensive end for the U. of Tennessee . . .

Two high profile major college quarterbacks have been unashamed of their relationship with God.  For more on the testimonies of Tim Tebow (Florida) and Drew Rutherford (Florida St), click here. . . Gedeon scored three touchdowns and accounted for 305 yards rushing and passing at quarterback, as well as being one of the defensive leaders in Hudson's opening season win over Medina.

The Explorers' offensive approach this year is to snap the ball to Gedeon in the shotgun and let him become a playmaker. He finished with 20 rushes for 145 yards and was 13-for-19 passing for 160 yards. All three of his touchdowns came on runs.

Teddy Robb

Canal Fulton Northwest

Indians senior wide receiver/defensive back Teddy Robb demonstrated his versatility and talent with two touchdown catches and two interceptions in Northwest
win week 2 over Akron Firestone.

He caught a 68-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Jim Shiplett to give the Indians a 7-0 lead and got his first interception of the game midway through the second quarter in the back of Northwest's end zone.  Robb was a second-team all-district pick in Division III last season.
