Ben has recently been selected to play for the United States team that will be playing in the World Cup tournament next March.  More will be reported soon on the USA baseball website.   The team is made up of the best minor league baseball players who aren't on the 40-man roster.

Zobrist is playing shortstop, batting leadoff and hitting well over .300 for the contending Salem Avalanche.  This is all in spite playing the season with a torn meniscus in his knee that will need surgery after the season.

BEN'S TESTIMONY

Growing up, I allowed sports to be my idol, and though I didn’t admit it, I worshiped sports more than I ever worshiped God. I accepted Christ into my life at a very young age and grew up in a church that taught the truth every week, so I knew alot about God, but I didn’t have a close relationship with Him.  I had allowed sports to come between us even though I knew He wanted to have first place in my life.

My senior year of high school, I began to worry about the uncertainty of my future.  My worrying kept me from experiencing the peace of God, because I had not fully surrendered my life to Him.  I hit my knees and prayed, giving God control of my sports and finally surrendering every part of my life to Him.

Today, I have more peace than ever because of my Savior Jesus Christ.  If you have never experienced the peace of Christ and a personal relationship with God, surrender your life to Him today, and He will bring a peace that surpasses all understanding.  Phil. 4:6-7
