BARRY CHAMBERLAIN
CEDARVILLE COLLEGE
Dubois First Baptist
Christian School (2000 Grad)
2001-2002 SEASON
Update
!! Update!! In Cedarville's win against
Wilberforce, Barry had one of those performances we are coming to expect as
"normal production". But please take a closer look at his stats
for the night.
24 minutes, 20 pts. and 12 rebounds. 8 of 10 shooting including 4-5
from beyond the arc.
YIPES !!!!
Oh, he rang up two assists and two steals in spite of playing in foul
trouble. We ALWAYS have loved this guy's game. His character
as a young man is even more outstanding.
Barry is finally healthy and it shows. After having shoulder surgery this past spring that caused him to miss the baseball season, Barry has recovered enough to have a fast start. He started the season with a 21 point, 14 rebound game in the third game of the season, leading Cedarville to their first victory. His double-double the previous night in the tournament, helped land him on the All-Tournament team.
In the Cedarville Invitational November 16-17, Barry was again named to the All-Tournament team though Cedarville lost the championship game.
2000-2001 SEASON
CHAMBERLAIN HURT - 1/2/01
Just four minutes into the game, Barry suffered an injury that looks to put him on the sidelines for awhile. He had already been playing with an injured ankle the entire season yet has been averaging 11.3 pts. per game and 7 rebounds in just 23 minutes of action a game. His averages were really hurt by two games in which he was injured very early and had to sit out the rest of the game, especially this last one.
OPENING NIGHT
Barry Chamberlain is at it again. This extremely gifted, humble young man broke into college basketball with a phenomenal opening game, but we won't hear him bragging about it. We had to accidentally discover it on the internet. You might want to keep a close eye on him too through Cedarville College's web site. You might remember him as our featured basketball prospect last spring and Barry has done nothing but prove he is AS ADVERTISED.
Consider these stats in
Cedarville's two point win over Tennessee Temple in Cedarville's opener,
November 18th.
Only 27 minutes but 21 points and 11 rebounds.
58% shooting on 7 of 12 from the field including 4 of 6
from three!
He also was 3 of 4 from the foul line and had only 2
fouls.
During the second game of the tournament,
Barry came back for twelve more points and five rebounds (in 27 minutes) in
Cedarville's disappointing 83-76 loss to Bryan College. Still, this
was good enough to land Barry on the All-Tournament team with teammate Curt
Fleck.
Knowing Barry's work ethic and disciplined mind set, we can't wait to see
the rest of this season!! And all this is after Barry was
coming off a leg injury this summer.
BASEBALL TRYOUT REPORTS
Barry attended two Florida Marlins tryouts, resulting in his being asked to attend two more. He also was named an American Legion, All-Pennsylvania, All-Star, this past summer (2000)
