July. All three made decisions for Christ that evening. Dante and Scott
trust Christ as Savior.
Special Recognition at National Youth Conference for
"Outstanding Faithfulness in Youth Ministry."
TEAM JAM - 1994
The growing opportunities and responsibilities have only
emphasized two important priorities of TEAM JAM; assimilating youth into
local church bodies, and fundraising to enable this effort to become
"full time". 57,000 miles have been logged since 1991 visiting
teens at home or school alone. The Lord saw that and met these needs with
the donation of an extremely reliable big car by John's parents. West Hill
Baptist Church voted in May to officially designate John Saucier and TEAM
JAM a "home mission effort". Medina First Baptist Church decided
in Nov. to support John financially as a missionary with monthly support.

TEAM JAM'S OBJECTIVES
As a result of John Saucier's experience as a youth
minister, TEAM JAM seeks to mobilize community churches to better utilize
their resources for the collective benefit of young people. Churches in
every community represent the greatest collection of available volunteers
and professionals who have an interest in people. Their business is
people. Facilities, funds, and personal attention are available for
the great needs of youth but are not being utilized to the greatest
potential as a result of a variety of reasons.
As a result TEAM JAM seeks to assist ministers,
churches, school and community personnel and especially THE PARENTS, in
combining their resources for the benefit of these young lives. The
following steps represent how this goal is being reached.
First Obtain active approval and opportunities to
work with students on the local high school and some college) campuses for
the purpose of showing interest in young people. Time invested in
supporting school programs earns trust with parents and school personnel.
Closer examination of TEAM JAM personnel by families will find the reason
for such interest as being the importance the Lord plays in our personal
lives.
Second
Assist area ministers in learning how and actually become involved in the
lives of youth attending schools in their respective communities.
Introduce students to this resource available to them.
Third Develop lay workers and leaders in churches
and in the community, who have an interest in investing in the lives of
young people.
Fourth
Be a model for mentoring, discipling, and/or tutoring young people.
Provide training for those interested in imitating our efforts. Assist
youth workers in other communities outside our influence. Aid other cities
in developing similar personal efforts in the lives of young people.
TEAM JAM activities produce extended opportunities to
benefit from athletic exercise, team development, character development,
and personal attention from adult role models. These programs cost money
for team registration, uniforms, transportation, and many times even meals
for participants who can't afford it. An example of last year's TEAM JAM
basketball program expenses includes uniform purchases which are still
available for use. Interested participants increase each year, requiring
anticipation for needed funds. Lack of funds last year eliminated our
opportunity to defend our championship at the Ohio Sports Festival.

athletes, attended our events.

these events including: Pastor Paul Sorber, Mark Gibbs, Tony Jones, Jerry
Keller, Jay Nye, Pam Saucier, John E. Saucier (father), Sam Serves,
Charles Young.
TEAM JAM
BASKETBALL
The following is a list of the type of basketball
tournaments TEAM JAM BASKETBALL is involved with each year. All take place
after the regular high school basketball season and with the full support
of area high school coaches. Most coaches request our assistance in
developing their athletes. Other athletes take advantage of this
opportunity to play with friends from other schools or merely have the
opportunity to participate in organized basketball.
TEAM JAM'S focus is always the following: First,
show how a relationship with Jesus Christ is relevant in every day life; Second,
aid in the development of athletic skills, and Third, mentor young
athletes in character development, teamwork, and camaraderie. No
athlete that is interested in participating is turned away. If there
are enough participants interested in order to make a complete team, then
additional teams are developed. Age levels include 7th -12th grade.
Participation in the Christian led tournaments gives
athletes to become familiar with God in a more relaxed, non-threatening
environment. However, AAU tournaments participated in are for the purpose
of our TEAM JAM teams to set an example among their peers with their
behavior and open association with Christ. The goal is to aid athletes
in being leaders among their peers for what is right instead of crumbling
beneath the weight of negative influences.
