LEBRON

Picture
Picture
As LeBron dares to accomplish his own outlandish dreams, he continues to take Cleveland fans along for the ride.  Critics and media either make a fine living pointing out failures or great pleasure.  It's yet another example of how humanity is never satisfied with achievement - no matter how superhuman.

LeBron has endured ridiculous superlatives and
expectations since 2001, in high school.  He has been handling national scrutiny and criticism - from the age of 15 - and has endured it ever since !!  Many prominent figures have tragically crumbled under that pressure at such a young age.   Yet in spite of all the effort to prepare and succeed as an athlete, he has, more importantly, used his notoriety to make others champions in THEIR lives in Akron, Northeast Ohio, and around the country.

DID YOU SEE THIS MOMENT ??
. . . one of the highlights of the 2015 NBA Championship series was a simple gesture that took place in Cleveland in game 3 BEFORE the game even began.  Just before the jump ball at the start of game 3, LeBron took time to look over at THE Cleveland Browns Legend and Hall of Famer, Jim Brown, the star of Cleveland's LAST championship team in 1964) . Upon looking over from the jump ball circle, LeBron paid homage to him as Jim sat at courtside (video).

Even Jim seemed shocked that LeBron would be that cognizant to the significance of him sitting courtside. Even the media was caught off guard, though they were looking for as much NEW information as possible. The story really wasn't picked up until two days later. (Link

 PREPARATION FOR ADVERSITY *
1.  When you or your family’s health is bad:
God wants to spend time with you, so give it to Him!!  (Job 23:10; I Peter 4)
2.  When unfairly criticized by fans, friends or media !!!!
Christ was perfect, and mankind killed him a week after giving him a parade.     (I   Peter 2:12, Mt. 19:17-25)
3.  When close friends betray you . . .
He understands, He too was betrayed.       God says trust Him not man. (Ps. 55:12-19)
4.  When angry . . .
A soft answer turns away wrath (Prov 15:1).   Pray for wise words.
5.  When successful . . .
     Be gracious. (I Cor. 4:7; Job 1:20-22)
6. When others are blessed at your expense:
Enjoy sharing the limelight (Heb. 13:16)

God always has our best interests in mind.
Psalm 84:11 – For the Lord God is a sun and shield, the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

*This brief game plan was originally designed for LeBron when he was a senior in high school.  If you look close throughout his life, he has had to practice every aspect of these life challenges on a world stage.  It's worth considering that perspective when choosing to judge him and other "high profile" individuals.
